More information:

The Merci Train was sent to the United States in 1949 in gratitude for American help rebuilding the nation of France after the devastation of World War II. Wyoming received one of the 50 gift-filled railroad cars which made up the train. Today, the Wyoming State Museum is home to many of those gifts, some of which are documented in this traveling exhibit.
